jmeter-java software package provides Load testing and performance measurement application (java module), you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install jmeter-java
jmeter-java is installed in your system.
Make ensure the jmeter-java package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep jmeter-java *
You will get with jmeter-java package name, version, architecture and description in a table
